They’re absolutely gorgeous in person. There’s an elegance that’s not captured in the photos, but it’s seriously beautiful when you see them up close.

They look great, until you look at the the running lights when they are on. They give it gangsta tears, which looks cheap as shit. Someone on here photoshopped them off once, and it looked about 10x better.

It’s just too bad GM purchasing still clearly rules the interior. It’s a step in the right direction, don’t get me wrong. I was just so hopeful it would be Cadillacs Lexus LS moment when Toyota blew everyone away.

I was talking about this last night.

Cadillac needs to become America’s Lexus in terms of sheer refinement. Then they’d really send shivers down Germany’s back.

They need to modernize their dealer network too. Guys like this one all over TV here are not going to scare the Germans.

100% they need to become America’s Lexus for refinement. Except I think they need to stop worrying about the Germans. Having spent enough time in Germany now while having my home in metro-Detroit, I can unequivocally say they will lose due to factors completely outside their control.

The fact every road throughout Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg is a winding B-roads combined with the Autobahn is a home field advantage the US (for speed limits) and Detroit (for so few winding roads) based automakers cannot overcome. What we have in metro Detroit is pot marked roads everywhere and all sorts of weather. While I’m through and through a sporting driver, Cadillac has the perfect day to day test bed for building a Lexus. A cocoon of luxury that separates from you from everything around you. When Cadillac (and a Detroit luxury in general) was at its peak that’s what they were focused on. I know it’s boring and dull, but that’s the starting point that allows you to build things like the LF-A.

If GM would just give up on their stupid goal of trying to beat automakers with a beyond unfair home field advantage and focus on building something that they can refine with every mile that every development car drives (like how the Germans can on the autobahn and every road around Munich and Stuttgart) they could EASILY have the spring board to bigger and more fun things down the road.
